1. Watch Out
For Bad Advice |
Know
that you will receive a lot of lousy advice, so learn to listen only to
trusted family members and long-time friends. If one of them is a widow,
or lives alone, seek her out. Further, do nothing quickly, or without
several consultations. Well-meaning people came to me when I was a
widower and asked what I was "going to do with the children."
Was I planning on selling the house? I neither sold the house nor did I
do anything with my three kids, who proved to be my anchor, my grip on
reality, the very reason for getting up every morning. |
